I have been using my emeter for over a year without any problems in my Blazer. Through rain, snow and lightning it hasn't had a problem. This morning we had a huge 2+ hour thunder and lightning show with downpours. After the storm my wife went out to go to work and the e-meter was showing 510amps and 1700amp/hrs. I checked under the hood and everything is totally dry without a drop of water. I flip the circuit breaker on the back and the emeter jumps between -41 and 40.9 amp, if I remember correctly. Is this the storm screwed up the meter or should is it possible this is just a temporary condition caused by condensation somewhere between the meter and the shunt? On a side note she would have driven her Prius since the Blazer had a problem but the Prius wouldn't start. It just lit up with all the warnings to bring to service immediately. We just drove it on sunday so it worked before the storm. Oh well one storm two broken cars, and a knocked down now muddy bicycle :-( Not a good morning.
