I had the best luck with a 96' Geo Tracker. Put a 3" body lift kit to hang all the 14 8V batteries under the floor with inspection/cleaning/watering hatches. the weight is low and centered, handles well and can still have 4 people in the jeep. (Two batteries ended up in the engine compartment.) I have 3 under the driver and 3 under the passenger floor/seat. One each in the rear on both sides and 4 where the gas tank was. No spring mods were necessary since it's beefy and on a truck frame already. Handles much better than my Geo Metro and no batteries in the back seat. In fact, you can't even tell it's electric by looking at it except for the ELEC CAR license plate.
