Michael,
I'd also be interested to know how to turn the constant voltage down a bit.

I have an NG5 to charge my 144v of buddy pairs. I end up NEVER leaving it
to finish by itself because of the same issue that you mention.

Where do you have the finish current set? I set mine lower to keep the
equalizing current at 2.4 amps instead of 4. I don't trust the current to
split equally between the buddies ( and it doesn't). This also sets the
end-of-phase 2 current to be a total of about 1.2 amps or .6 amps per
battery. Often the current goes down to 1.6 amps or so, then turns around
and increases. It's a shame that Zivan didn't put a bailout for increasing
current in phase 2.

Over my 300 cycles, I've found that my pack is kinda on the edge for the
charger finishing properly:

1. When I charge on cool days, it will almost always go through the whole
cycle.
2. When I have only a light discharge, it will also almost always finish
(<25 A-H).
3. The charger seems to do some extra stuff before it switches. I see
some oscillation-like fluctuations in the ammeter before it switches
phases. Sometimes it doesn't switch, goes lower in current, and still
doesn't switch. I don't know what's going on here.

Most of the time I'm happy to avoid the equalizing phase. If only it would
turn off then...

Like you, I would have trouble saying that the batteries are even slightly
warm (on the outside) when this situation happens. It must not take much.
