Using a 300 pound piece of equipment makes "normal" life difficult. For one thing, its hard to visit people as their houses arent accessible, unless its a yard party or you meet them somewhere. Having people over isnt too great, as I have no seats, other then my chairs. Getting around is kind of hard as you can only take the street, sidewalk or ride on busses or paratransit. Not too many people drive a van with a lift. Even, then most private vans have room for a chair. Most commercial ones only have 3 places at the most for chairs.
I use to tow people in manual chairs in rehab and let people ride on the back of my chair. I needed help getting something from 7-11 and gave the guy a lift. Thats why my chair has all those accessories. Its my RV. I use it from when I leave my apartment till I get back. Indoors I use a smaller push chair and let the big electric one recharge. Thats why I am interested in making a manual like electric chair that can go 15mph. jeff http;//www.wheelchairmodifications.org
