Increased internal resistance is also a side effect of chronic undercharging,
which can be caused by thermal runaway. Due to this problem I have a pack
with varying internal resistances, some batteries heat more during discharge.
These are likely to go into thermal runaway during charge and therfore be
undercharge. In other words the pack becomes more and more unbalanced. Try a
0.5amp charge for 48 hours (240vac into rectifier fed to batteries via
suitable lightbulb if nothing better is available).
