Rick Woodbury's "Tango" EV <www.commutercars.com> seems like a much more practical approach. It predates the idea by over a decade, and you can buy them now. The Tango is the same width as a motorcycle, and can legally lane-split like motorcycles in most states. It takes half the road space, and one fourth the parking space. But it seats two, and has all the conveniences of a regular car.
