On Monday, Carmel police officers responded to the north parking lot of the Sunset Center at Eighth and Mission avenues to a report of a dispute. According to the Carmel Police Department log, a man called in to say he’d been in an argument three others about his electric car being unplugged. The man said he left the car plugged into an electric charging station, but when he returned a while later to the Sunset Center parking lot, it was unplugged. He then confronted three others, who had allegedly been drinking, and the foursome got into an argument about who unplugged the car. Upon arrival, officers separated the group and counseled the four people about acting civilly. Police stood by until all cars were finished charging and then left the lot.
