I would imagine this is not just a misunderstanding of the laws of physics. It probably also has to do with the guess-o-meter syndrome found in many EV's. We all know how hard it is to know exactly how much range you have left, and the OEM ev's face the same challenge, yet they often display a definitive figure anyway. Later when their algorithm kicks in and adjusts the figure up it can be confusing. damon
