I think you have it right.  If the "remaining range" meter goes up because 
you drove easier, someone who doesn't know how it works might think the EV 
really had more charge.

We don't know who "Scott Smith from Ford" is, but you would think that if 
he's connected with their EV program he'd be better informed.  Apparently 
not.
