A 300 VDC cigarette-lighter socket? Oh boy… be still, my heart… literally! Teasing aside, I do agree that Lee’s proposal makes sense… especially if everyone adopted the same pack voltage! How likely is that? 12 VDC has HUGE economies of scale for car gadget vendors. Imagine if every little auto-electric goody sold by JC Whitney had to come in a half-dozen different voltages? Anything as expensive as a stereo COULD have an integrated, wide-range voltage converter, but there are a lot of auto gadgets that are too low-cost (or too high-current) to do that for. :::: Jan Steinman, EcoReality Co-op <http://www.ecoreality.org/> :::: _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org Read EVAngel's EV News at http://evdl.org/evln/ Please discuss EV drag racing at NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
