The pilot signal diode can be anything, because it is not seeing more than 12v, 12mA at a dead short, so any small signal or rectifier diode is fine..
BTW, I replaced a bad charger for a local 2011 Leaf owner, where it was creating a bad smell in the car, despite still working. What I found was a big arcing crater in one of the two large film caps inside the charger. Just FYI. Cor.
