Interesting! We did that trip (visit Boston, then take a few days to explore Cape Cod) a year ago, also with a rental. I got a nice efficient ICE one but had not considered changing that to an EV as I am unfamiliar with the area and did not yet know what we were going to do (trips depending on mood and weather).
