I had a Citroen ID way back in 1963 for a couple months. My brother went
off to Vietnam and left me the car. It was just fantastic, the air
cushion ride, the height control, the way it cornered, and the
acceleration was pretty good. Above all it was beautiful looking, sleek
aerodynamic lines. I really abused it and it needed repairs that I
couldn't afford so that was the end of it for me.

Citroen DS was an aerodynamic technological marvel. It had front wheel
drive, disc brakes, and a funky self-leveling hydropneumatic suspension that
raised the car to driving height when the engine was started.
DS was spun off from Citroen as a separate luxury marque in 2009.
