... or will be soon, at under 25k euros (US$30k). Alas, mostly not in the
US. Sorry.

- Renault has launched another nostalgia EV, a Twingo "reboot" that looks a
little like the first Twingo of the early 1990s. With a 27.5kWh CATL LFP
battery good for around 260km of range, it costs ~20k euros. It's a trim
379cm long and has a clever sliding back seat, so you can choose either rear
legroom or cargo space.

- Late this year or early next, Renault's Dacia division will replace their
Chinese-built Spring with a more conventional-looking version of the Twingo.
Per usual for Dacia, it'll be priced lower, probably 18-19k euros.

- The VW ID.Polo is supposed to finally arrive at ~25k euros, with a 37kWh
LFP battery and 300km range. They'll offer a larger NMC battery for more
money. It's bigger than the Twingo but still reasonably sized at 405cm. FWIW,
that's 9cm longer than the Golf Mk1 of the 1970s. :-\

- Citroen has shrunk their E-C3's standard battery to 30kWh and cut the price
to under 20k euros. Unfortunately the efficiency isn't great, no doubt
partly because it's kind of chunky, and it gets only 213km of range.

- According to Reuters, "sources say" that a smaller, cheaper Tesla might be
in the cards after all.

No indication yet of price, battery capacity, or range. It's said to be SUV-
styled, and larger than the EVs above, about 428cm long. It will probably be
built in China, at least at first.

This, if it happens, will be a smart move for Tesla. I expect that it'll have
pretty stiff competition by the time they actually get it out the door,
though.
