Just wondering if anyone has evidence of a recent increase in EV sales in the US. Sales fell pretty sharply after the tax credit was nuked.
I've read that the big leaps in petroleum prices - and in some places outright shortages - caused by the mideast mess are boosting EV sales everywhere in the world. But none of the articles has cited any real EV sales data. One possible exception is this piece https://insideevs.com/news/793207/hyundai-ceo-evs-gas-prices-march-2026/ ... or maybe not, since lots of factors can affect EV sales. So far I've seen no official reports from the EU either, though I've picked up a few anecdotes. In the last 2 weeks we've had more people ask us about our EV than in about the last 6 months. I've also noticed that the used EV stock at the Renault dealer in the next town over is way down. Six months ago they had a couple dozen off-lease EVs waiting for buyers, who were mostly lining up at the new-car desk for the fast-selling new R5 retro-EV. Now they're down to their last Dacia Spring, still a pretty decent deal at under 10k euros for a 2023 model with 23k km on the odo. Have you noticed anything similar in the US?
