It's tempting to see anti-EV bias in these reports, but one more pedestrian
reason for this emphasis on EV fires may be that EV fires are almost always
more spectacular.

They're also tougher to extinguish and sometimes relight themselves later.

Thus EV fires are more click-baity. Need I say more?

OK, I will. :-\

Here's a fairly even-handed evaluation:

very/

Shortcut: https://cntp.me/Yw1UDgh

This article says that the vehicles most likely to catch fire are hybrids.
EVs are the least likely. Old fashioned ICEVs are in between.

This article (in Motor Trend, no less) points out the same trend, and also
notes that ICEV fires tend to occur more often in older vehicles. That
tracks with my own anecdotal observation.

FWIW, Renault's engineers have designed a special water port for firefighters
to use in fighting battery fires. They claim that it makes EV fires as easy
to manage as ICEV fires. They're making the design available to other EV
manufacturers with no licensing charge.

That's all I have to say about that right now.
