That sucks! Unfortunate reality is that modern cars have become so dependent
on technology. When that tech fails, the car is crippled or dead. This
applies to both EVs and ICE vehicles. For us EV drivers, add the complication
that so many dealerships are flat out hostile towards EVs and there are few
technicians that are trained to work on them. I hope this ends the pr0blems
with your new car.

Subject: [EVDL] Ioniq 5 Charging Woes

Like many owners of a Hyundai Ioniq 5, I experienced an ICCU module
failure. I waited two months for a replacement. I thought that was the
end of it...

but wait, there's more!

The car worked fine for three months, but then the same symptoms started
again! Plug in the charge cord and the car announces, "Charging started,"
followed a few seconds later by "Charging failed."

The root cause this time was different.
*P0D9B11* — Battery Charger Coupler Temperature Sensor "A" Signal Low /
Short
*P1BAD92* — Charger Coupler Temperature Too High

The remedy is simple: replace the charge port and wiring harness

It took the dealer a couple of days to diagnose the problem, a few days to
wait for the part, and a few more days to repair the cars ahead of mine in
the queue. So, in week 30 of 2026, the car is back on the road. For 10 of
these 30 weeks, the car has been out of service.

We are not amused.
