We have used the built-in Evergreen self check for years as well. It is easy to configure and is extremely stable; we boot up the kiosks every morning and they run all day without issue.
If you'd like some specific information on how we configured them, let me know. Cheers. CM -- Chauncey Montgomery Community Library 44 Burrer Dr | Sunbury, OH 43074 740-965-3901 | https://www.yourcl.org On 10/29/25 12:03 PM, Benjamin Boyer via Evergreen-general wrote:
I second using the built in self check. We've had it for years on some basic Asus Windows Tablet PCs and it works very well. I only ask because Evergreen has a built in self checkout module that I know folks in Ohio are using the built-in selfcheck in production where as the OSSC Evergreen fork hasn't been updated in 8 years. Once setup on the backend, stations can be setup by going to https://[hostname]/eg/circ/selfcheck/main, where [hostname] represents the host name of your Evergreen web server. If you do need to move forward with the OSSC, I can dig through my old notes. I ran some manner of open source selfcheck with evergreen back in the 2010s, but at the moment I can't remember if it was built into Evergreen or the OSSC connecting via SIP2. Have a good day. I've tried going by the included docs in the package, and the Evergreen documentation, but to no avail. I'm also having a hard time getting SIP logging configured, so I don't have anything to look at yet. Thanks!
