No, that is not an assumption. Nobody accuse Riemann of assuming the infinity 
of primes. That follows from elementary arithmetic, as Euclid saw. It is the 
same for the computations, you don’t have to assume them, you can prove their 
existence from the assumption that every schoolgirl learn in primary school.

Yes, they are sort of equivalence classes for the first person experience 
“seeing this or that result”.
