can you create a backtrace of the evoluiton-mail process and all its
threads, and also a log of server activity upto the point of failure,
set CAMEL_VERBOSE_DEBUG=1 in your environment and run evolution-mail in
a separate window (in gdb) before starting evolution.  When it fails,
ctrl-c it and run 'thread apply all bt'.

What type/version of server is it?
