Evolution 2.8.2 on OpenSuSE 10.2. In the year I've been running OpenSuSE, Evolution has never shut down properly. Either it crashes or hangs or the system crashes. Even when I've tried to exit Evolution gracefully, it just hangs... and I eventually kill it. No problem... when it starts back up, everything is fine... until yesterday.
Yesterday, for the first time, it exited when I asked. This was followed by a reboot. Upon restarting Evolution, it showed ~100 emails in my Inbox (rather than ~30k). Every time I restart it, it shows a different message count... but still <2k. My ~/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox file is ~1GB. Manual inspection shows everything there (I see the recent messages that Evolution is no longer showing in my Inbox). There must be some sort of tag in the file that's lumped most of the email into one message. What should I look for and how to repair?
