My mail server, Postfix 2.0.19 snapshot, works the same (called VERP).

I want to be able to do the same too, but differently. I have a Postfix
cleanup header filter (thanks to Ole Tange on the Postfix list) that
filters on date: [EMAIL PROTECTED], for example, would
allow the address up to 2004-03-07, but be invalid after that date and
the filter would return "Invalid recipient address". cron updates the
filter every day at midnight, with a perl script.

That's more a question of defeating bots than finding exactly where the
bots have harvested my address.

Lonnie's suggestion works (it works for Mozilla and SquirrelMail too);
it's a PITA, because it means updating settings once a day. But it's
better than nothing.

Also, in your compose "Show" (or whatever that is in English, mine's in
Norwegian: "Vis") you can have a "reply-to" field. But you have to fill
this in by hand - that's a PITA, too. There's no option for this in
Mozilla, though there is in SquirrelMail.

You can, but it's a workaround. It would be nice if mailers were
designed for this possibility.
