Jim Ryan OFA Rupert Dance SW Forge Vladimir Sokolovsky Mellanox Minutes: * Opens * Discussion regarding OFA TPC committee; topics/planning for 2020 OFA development workshop o Call out to working groups for participation. o Arlin will add topic to Aug 12th EWG agenda, Joe Balich and Jim Ryan will present details and the ask * IWG and OFA board reevaluating the Interop/Logo programs and OFED requirements o Testing coverage ideas from these discussions (2 major components): 1. Latest upstream pre-release integration/testing - rdma_core & kernel maintainers, vendors 2. On-demand in-box distro testing for OS distros and vendors o Question to EWG - do vendors need OFED outside of interop/logo programs? ? Yes! ? OFED is the only backported distribution with "very latest" upstream bits (user and kernel) ? 6-10 month gap between rdma_core updates and OS distro releases/updates, too long ? distro's don't always backport from latest upstream rdma_core * Rupert had a question regarding Huawei inclusion back into OFA working groups, IBTA looking for insight. o Jim Ryan - OFA is a completely open community, US restrictions do not apply. IBTA might be different. * OFED-next will be OFED-5.3 * Agreement to target kernel.org 5.3 RC2 (or latest snapshot) for next release, Vlad agreed to start working on first build package * Backports to follow, initial discussions RH8.0, RH7.6 (or 7.7?), SLES15 and later (15.1?), no support for SLES12. Stay tuned. * Huawei RoCE drivers will be added into this new release (after initial build package is created?) o Huawei (Lijun Ou) to create patches to add drivers to installation/build o Please send OFED integration questions out to general ewg list and/or Vlad. Thanks everyone, very productive meeting! Please correct/add anything I missed. Regards, Arlin
