Job Description
FUNCTIONAL TITLE OPER ORG / Business Analyst Commando - VBA DEVELOPER
MAIN DESCRIPTION
ClientOperations are engaged in a strategy of actively optimizing their
location model. This process is aligned with the global strategy launched
by Clientto improve its systems and procedures: harmonization of the
procedures /processes including standardization of controls, and
harmonization of the systems.
The ORGanisation department within OPER is in charge of implementation
strategic projects defined under the Operation roadmap related to:
- Process Optimisation
-Transformation of operational set-up
- Implementation of Securitization or Regulatory projects
- Roll out of Global tools
The Commando Macros team within the ORG department is a transversal team of
business analysts, which support production or other projects for the
development, the maintenance and the security of Macros used by OPER.
The Commando team report to the local Head of OPER ORG in Bangalore and
functionally to the Head of the Commando team in ORG Paris.He will act as a
Developer and a project analyst.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES AND MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Development mode/ Per his responsibility on Macros, the Commando Macros
Business Analyst has 5 main objectives:
1 - Respect of Golden rules and guidelines
Confidentiality rules
Security and access rights guidelines, incl access to IT tools (passwords)
Coding guidelines, incl comments, declaration of variables, ...
Formalization: business requirements, UAT, ...
2 - Monitoring of existing Macros
Regular scan of production directories to check existence of Macros
Check exhaustiveness of the documentation
Check consistency with similar Macros existing in other location (in
liaison with Commando teams in Paris, New York and Asia)
Ensure that golden rules apply
Certification of all Macros (with priority given to most critical ones,
after priority decided in coordination with local manager, Head of ORG
Bangalore and Head of Paris Commando)
Proposals for rationalisations and improvements
3 - Development of new Macros
Business requirements with the client
Monitoring of demands and needs
Define cost and capex of each new demand
Define with ITEC and Application Owners alternative automation
opportunities (Macros 'quick wins' to become hardware developments)
Coordinate with Paris Commando to leverage on existing Macros and ensure
methodological consistency
Define the level of priority with local manager, Head of ORG Bangalore and
Head of Paris Commando
Develop in accordance with golden rules
UAT with and without users
Deliver a user guide and a technical documentation
4 - Support/ Maintenance
Maintenance of existing Macros
Assistance to users and ability to react quickly ('commando')
Follow-up of automation asked in IT Applications catalogues
5 - Anticipation of needs
Link with production users and managers
Link with OPER ORG projects to detect any needs for automations
(productivity gains, securization..)
Project mode/ With each Macros development or support considered as a
mission, or part of a more global project, the Commando Macros Business
Analyst have additional objectives:
Execution of the missions/ projects
Analysis of existing process
Proposal for technical solutions
Cost and planning of each solutions
Risk assessment, Pros and Cons of each solution
Participation to the implementation
Coordination with stakeholders in order to respect the planning
Participation to the change management
o Set-up Users guides
o Set-up technical specifications of developed tools
Technical support once tools are implemented
Management of missions/ projects
Respect of budget and planning
Progress if the project, anticipation of planning slippage
Alert to the management in case of issues of slippage
Quality of deliverable (content, formalization, clarity, style...)
Reporting to Project committee
Reporting of costs in dedicated tools (SPA, PPLUS, GPMO Web, Prime)
Clients relationship
Result-driven behaviour to ensure assigned goals are achieved on time with
optimal use of allocated resources
Careful understanding of clients needs
Reactivity, quality of service
Cooperation
Share of knowledge with production teams, hierarchy and peers
Punctual help to hierarchy or peers when needed
Curiosity for other projects or initiatives within GBS or SG GSC
KEY SKILL AREAS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Expertise on VBA Macros (Excel and MS Access) and SQL
Good knowledge of Corporate Investment Banking products and process
