You did not provide an example but I would suggest you only use ONE sheet and 
simply use 
data>filter>autofilter
to filter the data you want and hide the columns you don’t want to show. 
A macro can be used to do this for you

I HAVE TWO SHEETS ONE PROGRESS TRACKING DATA AND REPORT-INDEX I WANT TO CAPTURE 
DATA  FROM PROGRESS TRAKING DATA SHEET IF COL (I1) OF REPORT-INDEX MATCHES WITH 
COL(P) OF PROGRESS TRACKING DATA  IT SHOULD LIST ALL ROWS WHICH MATCHES BUT 
ONLY THOSE COLUMN WHICH'S HEADING (COLORED GREEN FOR UNDERSTANDING) MATCHES 
WITH THE HEADING OF THIS SHEET COLORED GREEN FOR UNDERSTANDING THE LISTING TO 
START BELOW THE HEADING ROW

IF NEXT TIME I1 VALUES CHANGES IT SHOULD CLEAR THE PREVIOUS  LISTED DATA ONLY..

DATA IS LARGE AND KEEPS ON CHANGING
