Position title: Sr. Performance Engineer[VK-PE1]


Duration 1 year plus



Location – Alpharetta GA

Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with various stack holders to implement performance
engineering best practices and long-term solutions

Work with various teams to define SLA, shape non-functional requirements
and performance of various components in the system

Provide recommendations on the Performance test approach/strategy

Ability to investigate system bottlenecks and recommend tuning option to
improve performance

Monitor, collect and analyze resource usage for physical servers, Virtual
servers and containers, performance metrics for Java Springboot micro
services

Develop test scripts and scenarios for various types of performance tests

Conduct Performance tests, analyze test results, and suggest performance
improvements

Responsible for preparation and execution of Load, Stress & endurance test
scenarios

Analyze the performance issues using GC log, heap dump, thread dump, DB
Analysis Reports, resource usage data, profiling snapshots, log files etc.

Troubleshoot test environment and take action to keep environment up and
running

Drive performance engineering as part of agile development

Participate in daily standups and Time box planning in agile environment

Ability to multi-task and adopt to rapidly changing priorities



Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred

8+ years of experience in Performance Engineering

5+ years' experience in monitoring, load analysis, bottlenecks detections
and profiling

3+ years' working in an Agile Scrum / Kanban environment / methodology

Proven experience in designing and managing robust performance testing
framework in support of continuous integration and deployment processes for
high volume mission-critical application or platform

Ability to pick up new concepts and apply them quickly in daily work



Required Skills:

• Strong skills using Load generation tools such as HP ALM PC 12.x, Load
Runner 12.x, JMeter

• Experience and skills using various VUGen protocols such as Web, Web
Services, Java VUser, TruClient-web, TruClient-Mobile web, Java Vuser for
Continuous Delivery, JMeter to develop test scripts in C, Java, and Java
script languages

• Strong Skills and experience on monitoring/Diagnostic tools such as
Dynatrace, AppDynamics NewRelic, SiteScope and Open source profilers etc

• Experience in testing MicroServices, J2EE, SOA, REST, Web, Mobile, Big
Data technologies (Cassandra, Kafka, MongoDB)

• Experience with Load balancers, Webservers, Application servers, Database
Servers, Operating System, Network Software and Hardware

• Ability to continually learn/engage with new technologies and programming
techniques

• Experience in Linux: Cpu, Memory, Disk and Network performance analysis
and bottlenecks identification

• Skills on Linux OS to troubleshoot and collect performance data

• Experience in Performance metrics of J2EE: GC, Heap Analysis, Java threads

• Experience in log analysis using tools such as Splunk, ELK Stack etc

• Experience in Network virtualization and Service virtualization tools



Preferred Skills:

• Experience in testing of Micros Services, AWS, Cloud

• Experience in DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Concourse, BitBucket

• Experience in testing with container technologies (Docker, Kubernates)

• Knowledge in AWS in the area of EC2, RDS, ELB/ALB etc
