Brick level backups are a bad idea - there is indeed a greater chance of
causing problems with the store imho, and you gain very little as you
can work around most of the reasons you'd ever need to use a brick-level
restore with just a bit of thought in E2K or E2K3. And this isn't about
Arghserve, though I've certainly seen that do some..umm.. Interesting
things with brick level backups... 

But rather than focus on brands of backup software, I think that BLBs
are like a dangerous rock-face and changing the brand of rope and pitons
you buy before starting to climb it doesn't do anything to make the
climb safer because fundementally the danger isn't in the equipment you
are using but in the mountain you are climbing.
