To reduce the testing time you can also use this to view what the SCL of
those messages are.

http://blogs.msdn.com/exchange/archive/2004/05/26/142607.aspx

That way you can make changes to the website and see what it does to the
classification of the message.

Making sure you have a reverse lookup for the SMTP server sending the
message, increasing the amount of text, reducing the number of URLs, and
having the subject makes sense and no having too many numbers in it are
good things to check to lower the SCL rating (I haven't seen too much on
the inner-workings of SmartScreen so I am just going on what other
filters do)

Changing from Delete from Reject should not change the behavior of white
listing.

No, I jumpted right up from 6 to 9. I think I will try to back it down
to 8, test, then 7 and test. The form is very simple. Just 5 or lines
of text like name, address, comments, etc.. I was thinking of changing
the behavior to delete from reject (don't' want to archive). Would I
then be able to trust the IP of the webserver?

Have you tried to set the gateway threshold to 7 or 8 to see if that
allows the message through?

You may also be able to modify the page that sends the mail so that it
doesn't get rated as high.

That's what I thought. I'm going with (unfortunately) a more lenient
gateway threshold (9) and staying with (4) for the store threshold. Now
I just need to upgrade 10 outlook 2000 clients to 2003 so they can use
the junk e-mail feature. I really liked the fact that I could reject
spam and make the sending mail server responsible for the NDR.

The store threshold will honor users' safe lists, but the gateway
threshold will not.

Subject: IMF question

IMF set on 6 at the gateway is rejecting (as designed) what it *thinks*
is spam. We have a simple web form on a public site to e-mail comments
to one of the employees mailboxes. IMF is blocking these website comment
e-mails. Can I whitelist the sending address somehow? Or some other way?
Or do I have to raise the gateway blocking level until it will let is
past?
