SSL is a must , do you have a certificate installed to the default website of your RPC
virtual directory? is it the RPC virtula directory configured to use SSL?

Subject: RPC over HTTP

I've been trying to implement RPC over HTTP on a single domain controller
via KB 833401. Everything appears to be set up correctly per the KB and I
can "visit the rpc virtual directory" however when I run Outlook with the
/rpcdiag switch, I am only prompted numerous time to supply my remote
username/pwd as well as my local username/pwd.

Has anyone successfully set this up and can you offer any advice as to
where to look next?

Thanks!
