I think what is basically missing here is the fact that MS *does* fix security flaws in IE.
SP2 gave the XP version of IE better security features E.g. from http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/44033/Windows_44033.html "For Microsoft customers waiting to hear that the new IE features in XP SP2, including pop-up blocking, safer downloads, and add-on management, will soon be available to Windows 2000, Windows NT, or Windows 9x platforms, I have bad news. It's not going to happen. You need to be running XP to get the latest IE security updates. " Lets call the XP SP2 version 6.5. In the same way that SP2 gave us tablet pc 2005 Get over it ;-) ********************************************************************** Have you clicked on yet? www.nrc.govt.nz ********************************************************************** NORTHLAND REGIONAL COUNCIL This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
