I'd love to replace the machine, but we're a non-profit, so we have to try and make it work. I have some replacement memory, so we'll see if that fixes it. I was hoping for something like replication in SQL Server, so I could have a replacement ready to go, so users would hardly notice anything.

Based on your follow-up note, I'd suggest the most direct course of action is to get new hardware and replace the existing server. There are a variety of strategies available to provide continuity and recovery without Windows clustering, but with a flakey source machine the fundamental precept of HA is violated.
