Well that is an entirely different problem. Mail encryption products won't scrub the meta data out of Office documents (which sounds like what happened). There are products that do that (none come to mind...its early..ok I do believe that IronMail does this..but I'm not 100% sure). So you have two problems then from what I understand:
1. Cleaning of Office document meta-data 2. End-to-end message encryption PGP can be both a gateway solution or just a client side solution and your right...it can be quite expensive (and requires you to build and manage your own PKI). The alternative is to buy a certificate from a company like VeriSign for each individual who needs to encrypt their mail. There is tons of documentation out there on Exchange\Outlook and using S/MIME and if encryption is what you want and you need it for a small portion of your company (say a specific business unit), it may be more cost effective to do the S/MIME route that way you won't have to manage your own PKI. Most mail clients natively support S/MIME (unlike PGP) including Outlook. Now I am sure that some one will correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe that Office natively will allow you to save documents as PDF's (OpenOffice, however will).
