I have a client that we installed BES on SBS. It is working but I don't think I would do it again or recommend it.

Great as those products are, vendors don't seem to see the light. Microsoft doesn't (yet) support Exchange on either, and RIM won't support BES on either. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ed Crowley [MVP] Sent: Monday, May 09, 2005 7:45 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: GoodLink on OWA server? Never used GoodLink, however we have Blackberry here, which sounds like much the same thing. We have a separate box for it. That box is also used for some file sharing and printer sharing. It's sitting idle most of the time. I have to agree that it makes much more sense to put something of that nature on a separate box. -----Original Message----- From: Mellott, Bill [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, May 09, 2005 11:53 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: GoodLink on OWA server? I run my Good server on an older DL360 (800Mhz Mhz PIII 1.2GB ram) latest version of the Good software. I do share the server with my URL filter software. But other then that for my users load of Devices (957's, G100, treo's about 13~15 people) it's ok They do NOT recommend running it on the exch server MAPI file type issues etc... Me.. I would not put it on a Exch server, OWA ,etc...it doesn't require much box... So pick up a used DL360 done...minimal captial cost and it's on it's own box just in case Mine just run's even with the URL filter on it, actually the Urk is more problematic then the GOOD software 2 cent's bill -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chris Scharff Sent: Saturday, May 07, 2005 1:59 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: GoodLink on OWA server? GoodLink communicates via MAPI. If you are going to allow MAPI to communicate from your DMZ to your internal network you, uh, don't have a DMZ. As long as you consider the OWA box to be disposable install GoodLink, if it goes tits up just rebuild and replace at your leisure. If either OWA or GoodLink will be considered 'mission critical' then I don't know what to suggest other than you agree to do it but document your reservations. I'm not much of a GoodLink fan myself, but some others I work with seem to like them. -- Chris Scharff Messaging Services Architect MessageOne [o] 512.652.4500 x244 [m] 512.560.2984 [f] 512.652.4504 Building Highly Available E-Mail: http://www.messageone.com/email-continuity/ > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > Larry Wahlers Posted At: Friday, May 06, 2005 9:12 AM Posted To: swynk > Conversation: GoodLink on OWA server? > Subject: GoodLink on OWA server? > > > Colleagues, > > Very sorry to ask two questions in one day, but it's getting hectic > here, just like everywhere else! > > Management wants GoodLink, and they don't want to buy a new server, so > they want me to install GoodLink on our Exchange > 2003 OWA server.
