This ties into the post yesterday about the unable to relay error someone else, and myself are getting.
The problem, for me, is this: Every time I get an unable to relay message, it is because the exchange server has retrieved the WRONG MX record. The Exchange server looks to 2 internal AD DNS servers. These servers have the CORRECT MX record. These servers forward out to resolver.qwest.com What Exchange is doing is getting the A record for the domain, and not the MX record. Domain in question at this time is flpsop.com: A record for flpsop.com = 208.252.182.133 MX record for flpsop.com = 208.188.123.235 (the only MX record in DNS, checked against multiple external DNS servers) There happens to be an SMTP engine running on the same IP at the A record looks up, but it cannot accept mail from external mail servers. I get this all the time from a variety of domains. Exchange 2003 SP1 is running on 2003 SP1. Has anyone heard of this or know how I can correct it? _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
