Also sometimes when PF permissions are granted to DLs. Exchange 2003 converts them on the fly to mail-enabled security groups as soon as one of the DL members attempts to access the PF.
I have seen cases where PF access was still messed up for 1-2 weeks after this and then magically started working fine. Another trick - if users have certain PFs in their Favorites since Exchange 5.5 days, PF access may be messed up after migration. Now when we reboot the 5.5 server a bunch of Exchange services don't start. The error was that some public folders were not successfuly moved over. We thought they were as replication was up to date. Would it help (or hurt) to load the 5.5 admin console on the 2003 Exchange server (is this possible). IS there any best way to remove the 5.5 server at this point?
