Hello,

Windows 2000 SP4
Exchange 5.5 SP4
BES 4.1 SP3

We had a problem with the IMS crashing on the server at odd hours like
2am or 5am and it wasn't clear what was causing the crashes from the
Event Viewer.

Seeing as how the DST patch from RIM seemed to be going through a lot
of problems, I decided to wait until the last minute to push out the
patch on Saturday. I also decided that would be a good time to apply
the BES 4.1 service pack to see if that would fix the random IMS
crashes.

Aside from realizing that java also needed to be updated for DST,
everything seemed to go smoothly.

Uninstall java
Install latest java
Apply BES SP3
Push out DST BB patches wirelessly

For Sat. and Sun. everything seemed to be going fine.

I wake up this morning and find the IMS stopped again, but this time a
lot of Windows stuff won't work now.

IPSec Policy Agent service is broken (meaning the service starts but
the policy isn't running, all the ports are wide open on my external
publically facing NIC)
Add/Remove Programs won't launch
Network and Dial-up Connections won't launch
BES not working

If anyone has any thoughts as to what might be happening, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks,

Joon
