You didn't tell us how you did this import. I suspect that your method has left a critical Active Directory attribute out of the import that Exchange uses to determine that the contact is mail-enabled. If you can provide more information of your process perhaps one of us can suggest what you might have left out.

Hey Folks, You folks have been excellent about steering me in the right direction during this NT4.0/Ex5.5 --> AD2003/E2k3 migration. Everything has gone fairly smoothly and most of the kinks have been worked out of the system. However, I have one last question that I was wondering if anyone could/would help me with. Yesterday, I figured out how to do an import of all the Contacts from a certain company...11,053 of them to be exact. They all look good in the AD, they're in the correct OU, and they're all formatted the way I want them. However, I've hit one little snag. In order for a customer to see that Contact in the GAL, I have to validate the e-mail address first. Is there a way to do a mass e-mail address validation, either as part of the import process or after I get them imported?? If I select them all and select the Exchange Tasks option, the Validate option doesn't come up...just the Delete Address option. Currently, I have to highlight one Contact, select "Exchange Tasks...", select "Validate E-mail Address", click Next twice and Finish once. There's no way I have time to do this for 11,000+ Contacts, one at a time. If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it. I have two more Contact list imports to go, both of which are twice this size. Environment: AD2003 Native / Exchange 2003 Native Hardware: 1 FE, 1 BE, 1 SMTP/Encryption/Index Server Thanks, Jim Blunt _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
