Umm. I only have one server :-) so bear with me as I assume we are just sending and receiving email on port 25
I would assume a stop and start of the services (or server may be required) The other thing to check on the server would be to telnet <ip address of mail relay> 25 (tips: see http://www.cs.cf.ac.uk/Dave/PERL/node175.html for list of commands) you should get back something like 220 <mail relay> Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: 6.0.3790.1830 ready at Thu, 23 Aug 2007 16:51:31 +1200 If you just get a : Connecting To <ip address of mail relay...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: connect failed Then you have a fundamental problem with network connectivity -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Stephen Reboulet Sent: Thursday, 23 August 2007 16:44 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Having an issue with outgoing emails staying in the smtp connector queue Thanks, I'll take a look at the pages. The ipconfig /all does back with only the two internal DNS servers listed, so I'm not sure where it's pulling the 68.87.71.226 address. I've run nslookup on other servers and workstations in the Boston and all resolve correctly. As to the work around, should I enter that under: ESM - Admin Group - Servers - Boston Mail Server - Protocols- SMTP- Default SMTP (Properties) - Delivery - Advanced and enter the IP address of another Exchange server as a Mail relay? I added the ip address, but the server continues to sit on all of it's email. : >The nslookup you did proves you have a problem with domain name >resolution on the server.
