Thanks, I think that pretty much sums it up.

That's because that mailbox was probably already reconnected to
the correct user on the new mailstore. I'm assuming here you have 2
mailboxes with the same name in exchange. One that's correct with all
the data working, on some other store, and another that's got the same
name with partial data on another store. You will need to temporarily
disconnect that user from the good working moved mailbox and then
attached the orphaned one back to himself or some other Temp user. Then
you can do what you like with that mailbox. When all done just make
sure you reattach the correct mailbox back to the user. It's a dirty
cat mouse game your going to have play with both exchange and AD.

This is also not the easiest thing for me to explain, but I have seen it
happen a dozens of times in exchange 2003.

Well, I now have the following problem: I cannot see the orphaned
mailbox in exmerge. I tried to reconnect it to a hypothetical user and I
get the message that it cannot be done as the mailbox has already been
reconnected (it does not mention to who though.)

Additionally , move folders one at a time, when you get errors on a
folder, move blocks of messages at a time till you narrow down the
corrupt ones. Calander: change view then move them

I would use Exmerge to move it out to a PST.

Then mount PST in Outlook under working account and pull items back into
their mailbox.

Tips:

You may or may not have to fool around with removing the users exchange
attributes etc to temporarily fix the broken mailbox. When all is said
and done purge out the bad mailbox and make sure the good one is
attached to the correct user and all his exchange settings are correct
in AD etc.

 Running Exchange 2003 x 2 Locations

We move mailboxes between stores and servers on a regular basis w/o any
problems. The last one we did only seemed to move 90% of the mailbox.
Although it is completely usable in its new location, it is missing some
data. The 10 % it did not move is in the original store with a RED X
next to it in the system manager. Unfortunately in our haste to click
'NEXT, NEXT, NEXT' we did not view the error report (not sure if there
was one).

Is there any way to get at the remaining 10% or is it lost in Exchange
CyberSpace?

Many Thanks

Aristotle Zoulas
