For Exchange 5.5 there is a utility from PSS called Clean Sweep which can delete rules for a mailbox. I do not know if it will work for Exchange 2000.
We had to use it recently when moving mailboxes (via Admin program) from one Exchange 5.5 server to another. For some reason (PSS had no idea why) we experienced fatal errors on about 1/3 of the mailbox moves. PSS had us use exmerge from a backup to recover the rules. Afterwards some of our users got the same "not enough space" message. That's when we ended using the CleanSweep utility. One note about rules via exmerge that we learned - if any of them copy or move messages to folders then the user will need to edit the rule to specify the folder. Regards, Jane Jane F. Everything worked pretty smoothly. However I am encountering a problem with rules. I did select the options to bring over associate folder properties (not sure of exact name in exmerge) but now am having problems storing or deleting rules. I only have one rule left on the server and I am unable to delete it. As well if I try to store a rule on the server I get the following error after creating the rule. There is not enough space on the Microsoft Exchange Server to store all of your rules. The rules that failed to upload have been deactivated. We definately have enough space. Is there a way to delete/reset/configure rules on the server? Thanks.
