We have a small network of about 35 PCs with a single server running
both the OS and Exchange. Until recently, we were on NT4 and Exchange
5.5, with clients on Outlook 2000 and everything worked fine.

We have just replaced the server and upgraded to W2K and Exchange 2000
(still Outlook 2000, though we have one machine on 2002) and, although
things work, messages are no longer being automatically sent or
delivered. Sent messages remain in the Outbox and new messages do not
appear until a contact with the server is initiated from the client, for
example by opening a message or changing to another exchange folder.

I've checked all the settings I can think of, but can't find anything
that makes a difference. Any suggestions would be gratefully received
(and may even divert the user lynch mob).

Thanks,

Mike Jones
