ADSIedit should do it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hooks, Tim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Exchange Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, November 04, 2002 5:18 PM Subject: Strange account problem - need your advice...
I went from Exchange 5.5 to 2000 on a new box about 10 months ago. I had one user account that did not move (let's call the account JSmith), I think he was hidden from the GAL. At any rate I was not concerned as his mailbox was going to be disabled anyways. I uninstalled 5.5 from the old server months ago. Here is my problem, jsmith still gets email and it goes into a queue for the old exchange server, which never replies and finally a NDR is generated. In active directory the Exchange task available for him is to enable instant messaging - I can neither create or delete an email box. His exchange info in AD is grayed out - but it indicates he has an account on the old server. His Windows user account cannot be deleted. Any ideas on how to remove his old exchange info? I assume it could be done though adsi edit somehow - if so where and what are the repercussions? Or better yet is there some utility to strip this info out? Thanks for your help. Timothy J.
