Open ADUC on a computer that has the ESM and at least E2K Sp2 installed. Click on View>Advanced Features
Then right click on the user and choose exchange tasks Click Remove Exchange Attributes and click on through. This should clean mailbox information that pertains to the other server off of the user. Then make sure you followed the Q for removing the first serve from a site. -----Original Message----- From: Hooks, Tim [mailto:THooks@;keglerbrown.com] Posted At: Monday, November 04, 2002 4:18 PM Posted To: Exchange Discussion List Conversation: X.400 issues Subject: Strange account problem - need your advice... I went from Exchange 5.5 to 2000 on a new box about 10 months ago. I had one user account that did not move (let's call the account JSmith), I think he was hidden from the GAL. At any rate I was not concerned as his mailbox was going to be disabled anyways. I uninstalled 5.5 from the old server months ago. Here is my problem, jsmith still gets email and it goes into a queue for the old exchange server, which never replies and finally a NDR is generated. In active directory the Exchange task available for him is to enable instant messaging - I can neither create or delete an email box. His exchange info in AD is grayed out - but it indicates he has an account on the old server. His Windows user account cannot be deleted. Any ideas on how to remove his old exchange info? I assume it could be done though adsi edit somehow - if so where and what are the repercussions? Or better yet is there some utility to strip this info out? Thanks for your help. Timothy J.
