It was a 'Send as'. Here is the scenario: UserA has permissions to log on to USERB's mailbox. UserA wants to send an email using "USERB"'s address to about 500 recipients (SEND AS). UserA sends an email to 500 receipients using the BCC field with USERB's email address in the FROM: field - included in this list of 500 receipients are 2 internal distribution lists. The email went through and is sitting in UserA's SENT ITEMS folder but the email didn't come through to any of the members on the internal distribution list. On opening up this message, the BCC field is not displayed and on clicking on VIEW, the BCC FIELD entry is greyed out and it isn't checked either. So I can't verify the list of receipients to confirm whether it might have been user error or a genuine problem with the mail server.

I have 2 problems: A) The email didn't come through to any of the distribution list members in our organization. The MTA queues were empty. B) When I open up the email in the user's SENT ITEMS folder to verify who the email was sent to, I don't see a BCC field (when I click on VIEW, the BCC FIELD entry is greyed out and it isn't checked either) so I can't tell which recipients were included in the mailing. Normally, when I send a test email to someone using the BCC field, I can always view the contents of the BCC field when I open up the email in my SENT ITEMS folder. Why is it that I can't see the BCC field contents in this case ? I'm sure the email did go out as we got a couple of Undeliverables and I see some of the mail stuck in the IMC queue for bad addresses. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
