IIRC using VBSCRIPT and CDO you can create a MAPI session to log in
using the outlook model do a send/receive and then have it
disconnect....  I'm looking for a code example now.

You should be able to use VBScript to open an instance of Outlook and
then call the send/receive via an api. Which API, I can't help you with.
