Ok, trick question time...

I have installed IIS 5.0SP3 and configure the SMTP componant to be use as a
relay to my dmz smtp server. I am trying to bypass my internal, overload,
Exch 5.5 server to do mass mailing to our customer (40 000 msg for the first
run).

I have put the ip address of my dmz server in the smarthost config [x.x.x.x]
of the virtual server and define a remote domain to send mail to my inside
exchange server to deliver the error messages to my mailbox... This part
work fine.

My understanding of the smarthost setting is that anything, not for the
defined remote domains will be sent by default to the smarthost but
evidently, it's not working.

If I send a msg to my yahoo.com account, it bounce back with an error to my
exchange mailbox. The message is deliver by the new smtp server (confirm by
the header).

The only way to send to yahoo.com have been to create a remote domain of
*.com with a forward all mail to Smarthost [x.x.x.x], my dmz server IP
address. Same thing for .ca and .org messages. Now I can send to thoses
domains but, it's not normal. What's wrong with this setup? I have e-mail
msg to send to over then 30 domain extension...

Anybody try to use IIS SMTP to forward all to the internet?
