I hate to ask this, because it's been asked several times. Do you or don't
you have DNS/WINS installed?
If so, can you check the WINS manager to see if the machine has even checked
in?

Steve,

"Good" is one of those euphemisms right?

Yes, computer is shown in Server Manager. It IS greyed out however, like
machines that are not currently powered up, and it's called an "NT
Workstation or Server", probably because NT doesn't recognize it is a 2000
machine.

Can you expand on this? What do you mean by posting updates, and by "not
100%"?

That may be it...repeating screwy messages in Event log:
2506 from Server:
The value named IRPstackSize in the server's Registry key
LanmanServer\Parameters was invalid. The value was ignored,
and processing continued.
9001 from NWCWorkstation:
The Microsoft Client Service for NetWare could not start
because it did not bind to any transports.
7023 from Service Manager:
The Client Service for NetWare service terminated with the
following error: The parameter is incorrect.
Now I'm suspicious of the Novell Client 4.80.etc I'll try removing it and
see what happens.
Thanks for all your help!!!
