Thanks!! Didnt even see my post (must check settings)...I realize that
these should be managed by users/owners. Actually the PUBLIC folder
shouldnt be public. It contains VERY sensitive info and only 3 people want
access (had to change default/anonymous client perm to none). Invisible
wouldnt get me much here
I did find the article, I must learn to search a little deeper before
firing off an email. But not sure if it is really needed.
Thanks!!

Subject: PF Permissions & Deleted User
When we remove a user from NT, is there anyway to clean
up the
permissions on the public folder? We end up with an entry
that appears
something like
this: /O=RUR/OU=CITY/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=USERNAME. We have a
single
server, single site, running Exchange 5.5, SP4 on WinNT
4.0, SP5. I
thought I might need to use the "Update Now" button on
the "Directory
Service" but that button is greyed out. Can anyone help?
Thanks in
advance.

you know what annoys me is that the default for public folders is not
invisible. any Tom Dick and Harry can make public folders which is good
but
they should be invisible by default so there is not 17 zillion in
accessable
public folders. especially when they get mirrored on other sites but not
actually replicated. crappy design.

Subject: cleanup of Pub folder permission's??
Hello All,
I did a little research, but didn't find anything...I remember reading that
there is a process that removes permission's to pub folders periodically
based on account status (ie deleted, removed). Was I dreaming?? (hopefully
not about exchange). What I have are a bunch of left over admin names
listed in the permission's for pub folders. Not a big deal, just
annoying...

Thanks!!
