I've seen this in Outlook 2002. We were able to open Task Manager and it
would immediately open the attachment.
Running a Detect and Repair seems to fix the issue temporarily at least.

Have you guys comes across this prob in outlook 2K when you have an
attachment ( word or excel or whatever) and you try to save it, either after
opening the mail or by just right clicking on the attachment, the program
hangs !!
