Compaq Proliant, 512MB RAM, RAID1 for Operating System, RAID5 drives for the
Database. If possible place the Logs on a separate drive (RAID1 should be
ok). PIII 800mhz or faster is more than enough.

Don't go by the Microsoft recommendations. If possible, place Exchange on a
Member Server in a Domain, rather than a Domain Controller.

One of my clients is a 12 user base, they have a PIII 700 with 512MB RAM and
is a DC (Only Server in the Domain). If money is not an issue, try to make
the server as fault tolerant as possible.

Hope this helps! Might sound overspecced, but prices are cheap for RAM /
Storage.

Subject: Server sizing

I just need some suggestions on server sizing and configuration. I am
new to using Exchange and I want to verify/confirm some information and
outside vendor is giving me. I have about 30 users that I want to put
on exchange 2k. I need to determine the server hardware config. (ie.
hard drive space, cpu, etc.).

Thanks everyone for all your help.
